Bear with me, this story has its origins over 2,000 years ago.
Once-upon-a-Time, several armies of the Roman Empire were defeated by Hannibal of Carthage.

Whilst Rome’s armies lost large areas of the Roman Empire, a famous Roman General, Quintus Fabius Maximus Verrucosus, known today as General Fabius developed perhaps the first ideas of Guerilla Warfare.
These methods included; avoiding direct battles, delaying strikes against the enemy until he had superiority, maneuvering on high ground to evade Hannibal's superior cavalry, cutting off supply lines, and using scorched-earth tactics to starve the enemy.
Significance of General Fabius’ Strategies in Modern Times
These military tactics have been adapted into a political, economic, civilian and all-encompassing societal Strategy, within an organisation known as The Fabian Society.

For those who haven’t heard of the London School of Economics [LSE] , it was founded by Fabian Society members Sidney Webb, Beatrice Webb, Graham Wallas and George Bernard Shaw in 1895.
Here is the famous stained-glass window, unveiled within the LSE, by then British Prime Minister, Tony Blair in 2006.
