Persona ~ a 3rd Party Digital ID Corporation ~ Enforcing Digital ID Compliance
This corporation has successfully embedded itself in the Social Media Platform, LinkedIn.
When I tried to login to my LinkedIn account, my normal password pathway was blocked with this message;
Comment: Don’t you just love it when you receive a message like this ~ « we take proactive steps to secure your account when we detect potential unauthorized access! » They really do care about me!!
I land on this page, where I have NO option but to follow the commands of Persona!
Who exactly is Persona?
This corporation is promoting itself is a reliable, secure and useful add-on to protect social media websites ~ and their users ~ from preventing malicious use, blocking state-backed attackers, IP theft prevention etc…
This sounds very helpful, however, as AI community website informs us, there are real problems;

While this may sound like « a storm in a teacup » for a gullible public, these legal precedents might stimulate caution. This report from Research Gate elaborates;
Persona ~ The Coercion Tactic
Another major grievance is the coercive nature of LinkedIn’s ID verification. Numerous users have reported being locked out of their accounts unless they comply with Persona’s verification process. This creates a “data ransom” scenario, where professionals who rely on LinkedIn for job searches and networking are effectively forced to hand over their private information. One user described the process as “having your account held hostage unless you submit to invasive data collection” (r/LinkedIn, 2024).
This tactic raises ethical concerns about digital rights and consent. Unlike platforms such as banking apps, where ID verification is a legal necessity, LinkedIn’s demand for government-issued IDs lacks a compelling justification beyond its own business interests.
