CSIRO Bushfire Scientist ~ David Packham ~ predicted Bushfire Devastation Years Ago
David Packham ~ an eminent scientist ~ has continuously warned Fire-fighting authorities for years ~~ Fuel Reduction Burns are Critical for Community Safety!

Key take home points;
« Primary factors include the weather; ignitions; fuel loads; how dryness of fuel + low humidity can drastically affect fire intensity; how wind velocity determines the “fury” of the fire.
The only thing that we humans can control is the fuel loads.
Inquiries and Royal Commissions have handed down these findings many times, but nothing is done.
Near the end of the interview, David quotes from another veteran bushfire expert, who states that there are 4 groups ‘benefiting’ from these catastrophes;
1. The Green Party and supporters – it justifies their global warming agenda.2. Fire agencies – claiming that they need more money.
3. Politicians – seen to be comforting the victims during the tragedy and thus
increasing their political ratings.
4. The Media – they can go out for “war stories, have a lovely time and do not get shot at.”»
In 2026, we are once again, witnessing bushfire carnage across our landscapes!
Why Action on Fuel Reduction Burning is Critical
As you can see, a doubling of a fuel load of 15 tonnes/hectare = 30 tonnes/hectare.
This generates a Fire Intensity of 5.2 Megawatts per metre of fire front!
5 Megawatt Bushfires = Firestorms = unstoppable = **until they run out of fuel!
This scale below, puts fire intensity into perspective.
This graph below shows heat radiation levels from a « thick bushfire flame » related to distance from the bushfire source.
Listen to the heartfelt message of this firefighter, a CFA volunteer from when he was 16 years old.

As per this graph below ~ the money certainly wasn’t invested in fuel reduction burns.
