Without crops —> livestock wither and die. Without rail uplift —> no produce to market or export terminals.
No harvests = No food + No Export Income.

I liked Prof Sachs comments about the Ukraine dispute history and the earlier USA interference. However, he has lost me when he calls Trump a F*king idiot. Yes Clinton and Biden were mentally deficient and Obama was weak and had no idea of world politics. There is more to Trump and his backers than being a person hated by Democrats in USA, and socialists like Starmer, Albanese and Xi Jing Ping. I have read that Trump was already warning about Iran and Kharg Island in 1988. The take out of Venezuela was not about drugs but about oil and the Chinese influence in there and in central America (Cuba) and Africa. Do not for a minute think other countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and India do not know what is going on. Saudi Arabia is worried about the Chinese and Russian influence. They could not let Iran control the flow of oil. They do not want the flow to stopped and do not want to anyone to wipe out the island Kharq island which USA has not done. USA did not destroy the oil facilities of Venezuela but has offered to rebuild them and make the people of Venezuela better off. I think one will find that a consortium of Arab nations will control Kharg Island. USA via Trump has make friends and allies of Saudi Arabia. The Missile attacks on Suadi areas, Qatar, Kuwait and UAE (Sunni religions) has reinforced that Iran is not friendly. People who support socialism will find out too late that they have been used by Dictators (like Xi, Putin, Kamenei etc) as useful idiots to lead them in a war.
