The Pacific Northwest - worst fire season in 30+ years — 2.6 million acres, 60,000 evacuated — while the two cheapest life-savers on Earth sit ignored: a sprinkler, and a cleared firebreak zone.
I lucked out, the evacuation area approached my home by about a half mile to the east, west and north. Had plenty of N95 masks to handle the smoke when I had to go outside to tend my chickens and garden. Still smokey here, but not near as bad as the first few days.

Glad you have survived Jay -- hope the chickens will soon lay again..
